Perhaps no holiday performance tradition is more prevalent this time of year than "The Nutcracker."
Scores of dance companies across the country bring Tchaikovsky's ballet about a little girl and her big dreams to the stage every winter.
MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Morning Edition arts commentator and St. Paul Pioneer Press theater critic Dominic Papatola, who has seen his share of Nutcracker performances.
He talks about this year's offerings and some memorable productions from years past.
