Schubert Club Museum, 30th Anniversary
November 19, 2009
St. Paul, Minn. —
Happy 30th anniversary to the Schubert Club Museum in St. Paul, Minn. The festivities this weekend include the opening of the new museum galleries.
Classical MPR's Steve Staruch had a sneak-peak with Schubert Club executive director, Kathleen van Bergen.
The museum holds original letters written by composers like Beethoven and Mozart, and also holds quite the collection of historical instruments.
Watch the videos to see Gail Olszewski perform Mendelssohn on Kisting piano from the 1830s, an Italian harpsichord, and Brahms on a Bechstein grand piano from 1878. Tune in to Classical MPR to hear Steve Staruch feature these performances on the air!
