St. Paul, Minn. — Four albums into his solo career, Brendan Benson has made a name for himself as one of the music world's premier collaborators. As part of the Raconteurs, he's played an instrumental part in shaping the sound of garage-inspired indie rock.

His newest record, "My Old, Familiar Friend," was recorded in 2007 but didn't see release until August of this year. His tour brings him to Minneapolis, and he stopped by The Current studios for an in-studio performance and chat with Mary Lucia.

Songs performed: "Eyes on the Horizon," "A Whole Lot Better" and "Don't Wanna Talk."
