State lawmakers convene meeting on Central Corridor

Representatives from the University of Minnesota and the Metropolitan Council meet today to hash out some of their differences over the Central Corridor light rail project. The U of M is concerned noise, vibrations and electromagnetic interference from the trains will disrupt its research.

The negotiations have escalated in recent months with the University filing a lawsuit. Now members of the state Legislature are trying to intervene in the dispute. MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with DFL State Rep. Alice Hausman who will convene today's meeting.
