John Gorka on Radio Heartland
by Dale Connelly, Minnesota Public RadioSt. Paul, Minn. — New material always flows out of John Gorka. The Minnesota-based singer-songwriter has come out with a new album on Red House Records called, "So Dark You See." It contains not only originals, but also some re-worked songs from the writers he's learned from over the years.
Gorka got his start in the music scene while working at a coffee house in Pennsylvania. Over the past 25 years or so, he's become known as one of the founders of the New Folk movement.
John Gorka stopped by the Radio Heartland studio to play some songs from his latest release.
Songs performed: "I Think of You," "Where No Monuments Stand" and "Ignorance And Privilege"
