St. Paul, Minn. —
The St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra calls its first concert of the 2009-2010 season "New Beginnings." It's the first concert of a new season, featuring the "New World" Symphony, and the debut of the orchestra's new conductor, Andrew Altenbach.
Though he makes his St. Cloud Symphony debut this Saturday, Andrew is no stranger to Minnesota. He is the former associate conductor of the Minnesota Opera, and currently conducts the choir at House of Hope Presbyterian Church in St. Paul.
All that experience informs his plans for the St. Cloud Symphony, building on a successful audition concert last winter in which Andrew Altenbach was chosen from more than 100 other conductors.
Classical Host John Birge spoke with Altenbach about the upcoming season, and what he hopes to bring to his new position.
