St. Paul, Minn. — Construction projects at several Hiawatha light rail stations means riders might have to hop on a bus this weekend.

Metro Transit will replace trains with buses between the airport's Humphrey Terminal and the Mall of America starting at 11 p.m. Friday. The bus service will continue through noon on Sunday.

The light rail station at 28th Avenue in Bloomington will also close at 9 a.m. Friday and remain closed until 11 p.m. Trains will pass through the station without letting riders on or off.

Metro Transit says light rail service will be back to normal in time for Sunday's Twins-Yankees postseason game at the Metrodome.
