Gov. Pawlenty to Obama: 'congratulations'

Gov. Tim Pawlenty has congratulated President Barack Obama for winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded the president, saying "Obama is now the world's leading spokesman" for the kind of international diplomacy it has sought to stimulate.

On his weekly radio show, Pawlenty said he was "struggling" with the decision but thinks Obama should be congratulated.

"Under any circumstances, an appropriate response to somebody who has received a Nobel Prize is to say 'Congratulations', Pawlenty said. "I do think the concern that it's more about process and aspiration rather than results is a valid one."

Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle was a guest on Pawlenty's show, and he said that he thinks it's great that Obama won the award.
