Weekend lane closures on 35W near Hwy 62
by Madeleine Baran, Minnesota Public RadioSt. Paul, Minn. — Motorists will encounter detours and increased congestion on metro area roadways this weekend, when the southbound lanes of I-35W will close at the western junction of Hwy 62.
The lanes will be closed from Friday at 10 p.m. to Saturday at 5 p.m.
The closures are part of the I-35W/Hwy 62 Crosstown reconstruction project. The Minnesota Department of Transportation said the closures are needed to demolish the Hwy 62 eastbound bridge over southbound I-35W.
Northbound I-35W and Hwy 62 will remain open during the closures.
