Construction to slow traffic on I-35W

St. Paul, Minn. — Motorists will encounter detours and increased congestion on I-35W in Richfield this week, when the southbound lanes at Crosstown Commons close nightly between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

The closures begin Tuesday evening. The southbound lanes will reopen by Friday at 5 a.m.

Northbound I-35W and eastbound Hwy 62 will remain open.

Construction crews plan to remove the temporary bridge to northbound Hwy 21 this week, as part of the I-35W/Hwy 62 Crosstown reconstruction project.

The Department of Transportation has asked motorists to follow posted detours during the closures.
