Overnight temps fall into the 20s in northern Minnesota
by Nathaniel Minor, Minnesota Public RadioSt. Paul, Minn. — Temperatures dropped into the 20s and 30s across northern Minnesota early this morning.
International Falls had a record low temperature of 34 degrees, The National Weather Service in Duluth reported.
Embarrass was the coldest spot in the state with a morning low of 27 F. Other cold spots were Babbit at 29, Orr at 32, Ely at 32 and Hibbing at 33. Most areas near Lake Superior stayed in the 40s, while the Duluth International Airport checked in with a low of 38.
Another round of near or sub-freezing temperatures and areas of frost are expected for northern Minnesota tonight, the weather service said.
