A book of motorbikes, family, and dark secrets
by Euan Kerr, Minnesota Public RadioSt. Paul, Minn. — In Beth Carpel's novel "Assembling Georgia," a young Minneapolis woman's life is changed when she receives a mysterious package.
More packages follow and gradually Georgia realizes someone is sending her a motorbike, one piece at a time.
As the story unfolds she discovers a great deal about herself, and about some dark secrets she didn't know she shared with others.
Beth Carpel now lives in Nevada, but she told Euan Kerr she spent what she calls some formative years in Minnesota and that's why she set "Assembling Georgia" here.
