Motorcyclist killed after striking deer on I-694
by Elizabeth Baier, Minnesota Public RadioSt. Paul, Minn. — A motorcyclist was killed after he hit a deer that was crossing Interstate 694 near White Bear Avenue late Thursday night.
The motorcyclist was driving eastbound around 10:50 p.m. when he hit the animal, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The rider was then thrown from his motorcycle and landed in the left lane, where he was hit by a 2002 Mazda Protege. The driver of the car, Devahn Godfrey, 18, of Maplewood, was not injured.
Officials with the White Bear Lake Police Department and the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene.
The state patrol has not identified the victim.
