More Metro-area road closures this weekend

St. Paul, Minn. — All eastbound lanes on Interstate 94 between Interstate 35W and Riverside Ave. in Minneapolis will be closed starting at 10 p.m. tonight.

The lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. Monday, June 8, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Crews will be prepping and painting four bridges in the blocked off area. All westbound lanes will remain open during this time.

Motorists will be detoured from eastbound I-94 to northbound I-35W to eastbound Hwy 36 to southbound I-35E.

The ramp from eastbound I-94 to southbound Hwy 55 will remain open.

Eastbound I-94 will be accessible to motorists from Cretin Ave./Vandalia Street and all access points east of Cretin Avenue/Vandalia Street.

In addition, Cedar Ave. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 9 a.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, June 15.
