Among the new findings presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology conference this week: New hope for breast and stomach cancer drugs; more information about how hormones and antidepressants interact with cancer; and news of a potential cancer vaccine.
- Douglas Schwartzentruber: Surgical oncologist and medical director of center for cancer care at Goshen health system. He directed vaccine trials for the melanoma findings.
- Stephen Schuster: Professor of medicine and director of lymphoma translational research at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
- J. Leonard Lichtenfeld: Deputy Chief Medical Officer for the national office of the American Cancer Society. He directs the Society's Cancer Control Science Department, which produces the Society's widely recognized guidelines for the prevention and early detection of cancer and guidelines for nutrition and physical activity for cancer survivors.
