Westbound I-94 closed this weekend in Minneapolis
by Elizabeth Baier, Minnesota Public RadioSt. Paul, Minn. — All westbound lanes of Interstate 94 between Interstate 394 and Interstate 694 in Minneapolis will be closed from 10 p.m. today through 5 a.m. Monday, June 1, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Crews will be prepping and painting bridges at 7th Street North, Lyndale Avenue, Plymouth Avenue and 4th Street, according to MnDOT.
The following ramps to westbound I-94 also will be closed:
- West Broadway Avenue/22nd Avenue North;
- Dowling Avenue North;
- 53rd Avenue North to westbound I-94;
- Eastbound I-694 to northbound Highway 252.
Motorists will be able to use the posted detour route--I-394 west, to Highway 169 north to I-94 west.
All motorists will be directed off the freeway at I-394. Motorists who wish to exit at Highway 55 will be able to proceed to Highway 55, where they must exit.
