At around 9:30 this morning, the City of Crookston sounded its emergency sirens. An ice jam on the Red Lake River caused the water levels to rise three feet in four hours and about 200 people were evacuated from areas at risk of flooding.

To talk more about what happened in Crookston today, All Things Considered called Mayor Dave Genereux who talked to Tom Crann from the Crookston Emergency Operations Center - about 27 miles east of Grand Forks.
