Art Hounds: Week of March 19by Chris Roberts, Minnesota Public Radio
Each week Minnesota Public Radio News asks three people from the Minnesota arts scene to be "Art Hounds." Their job is to step outside our own work and hunt down something exciting that's going on this weekend.
Sarah Suemnig is a Twin Cities arts enthusiast who used to work at the Minnesota Museum of American Art in St. Paul.
Sarah can't wait until the night of Wednesday, March 25, when two local designers will battle at the 7th St. Entry in Minneapolis. The event is called "Fashion Feud." Admission is free. The winner goes on to the final round in April.
Laura Zabel is director of Springboard for the Arts in St. Paul, an economic development organization that focuses on helping artists and arts groups.
Laura is going to see Theatre of Fools' "The Wacky Chicken Show," at the Jewel Theater. The Wacky Chicken Show concludes it's run this Friday and Saturday night, March 20 and 21, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and students.
Wade Haynes is a graduate student in comparative literature at the University of Minnesota, and works part time at the Electric Fetus in Minneapolis.
Haynes plans to check out "Stereo Total," an electro-pop duo based in Berlin. Stereo Total is playing Tuesday night at the 7th St. Entry in Minneapolis. Doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance and at the door.
