Timberwolves slash prices for '09-10 season tickets
The economic recession has inspired the Minnesota Timberwolves to cut season ticket prices for next season.
Team owner Glen Taylor announced today that the cost of 95 percent of the season tickets in the Target Center will be lower. The team says the price drop is 44 percent in the upper tier and more than 11 percent in the lower tier.
Taylor also says the team is offering what they call a no-risk pledge for people who lose their jobs.
"If you make the commitment to the Timberwolves to buy the tickets, and you come to us and say, 'Hey, my company is going out of business, or they're cutting back and I'm going to lose my job. I'll need the money, I have to change my plans.' We're telling them right up front, you'll get your money back" for the unused tickets, said Taylor.
The team will allow season ticket holders to spread out the payments over nine months, without being charged any interest.
