Inspired by traditional ice fishing shacks, the Art Shanty Projects are out on Medicine Lake for five weeks of art, performance, architecture, science and more.
Plymouth, Minn. — Founders Peter Haakon Thompson and David Pitman say the aim of the project is for artists to take their work outside the gallery and into the community.
This year, more than 20 artists built themed shanties on the Plymouth lake. Highlights include performances at the Black Box Theater Shanty and singing at the Karaoke Shanty.
