Franken leads Coleman in Senate poll
Minneapolis (AP) — A new poll in Minnesota's U.S. Senate race shows Democrat Al Franken with a 6-point lead over Republican Norm Coleman, just outside the poll's margin of error.
Minnesota voters were polled on the Senate race as part of a broader poll by University of Wisconsin political scientists in partnership with eight Big Ten universities.
The poll found Franken at 40.2 percent, Coleman at 34.2 percent and the Independence Party's Dean Barkley at 15.1 percent. Almost 8 percent were undecided.
The poll has a margin of error of just over 4 points. It was conducted between Sunday and Wednesday of this week.
