Walz tells ME he opposes Senate bailout

St. Paul, Minn. — Rep. Tim Walz, D-Minn., told Morning Edition the bill passed by the Senate last night is better than the one the House rejected earlier this week, but he's still planning to vote against it in its current form.

The package easily passed the Senate last night, and it includes some amendments that Congressional leaders hope will be enough to sway reluctant lawmakers.

The vote comes just days after House lawmakers rejected an earlier version of the bill, sending markets plunging around the globe.
