President, U.S. Senate, Congress, and the Minnesota House of Representatives are the major races in the campaign of 2008. This is the first presidential election without an incumbent or sitting vice president involved since 1952.

As the presidential campaign races to November, TV sets will be flooded with political ads, some of them critical and misleading. Recently, at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute, panelists sought to shed light on this part of politics - what voters can learn about the candidates from the topics in and the tone of the ads their campaigns put out. Midday broadcasts their discussion.
