March starts peacefully, ends in violence

"March for Our Lives" attendees marched along their approved parade route from Mears Park to the State Capitol on Tuesday, Sept. 2. When they arrived, they were met by people who had attended an impromptu concert. The concertgoers followed the group toward the Xcel Energy Center, where the Republican National Convention was in session. By the time the march reached the intersection of 7th and Cedar streets, the groups had become intermixed and police had been alerted.
