St. Paul, Minn. — We Are Scientists formed in Berkeley, California shortly before heading to New York City in 2001. Their name was taken from a conversation with a man at a truck-rental company. When the man asked the band if they were brothers, and they replied "No, we're scientists."

The band built a small but devoted following through their three self-released EPs and gained even more popularity with their major-label debut, "With Love and Squalor" released in early 2006 on Virgin Records.

In 2008, their second full length was released on Virgin entitled, "Brain Thrust Mastery."

Songs performed: "After Hours," "Impatience," and "Lethal Enforcer."
