Willmar, Minn. — Two more people have been selected to serve on the jury in the trial of a woman accused of causing a fatal school bus crash near Cottonwood in February.
A registered nurse and a retired decorator are the latest people picked to be jurors in the trial of Olga Franco, the woman accused of killing four students in a crash with a school bus.
Seven prospective jurors were excused during the second day of jury selection. Some admitted they had formed opinions in the case that wouldn't allow them to be impartial jurors.
A woman who knew the first responders at the accident site and had met one of the victims before the accident was excused.
The number of jurors seated in the case is now eight.
Opening statements will begin when a twelve person jury, plus two are three alternates, is assembled. The judge in the case says that could happen by Thursday.
