President, U.S. Senate, Congress, and the Minnesota House of Representatives are the major races in the campaign of 2008. This is the first presidential election without an incumbent or sitting vice president involved since 1952.
Obama announces victory
At the close of the primary season, Midday broadcasts speeches made by the two presumptive presidential nominees, Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain, who are now working to frame the issues for the election in November.
