On the afternoon of Sunday, May 25, an F3 tornado struck the community of Hugo located north of St. Paul. The storm claimed the life of one child and destroyed more than 150 buildings.

Many residents of Hugo are putting their lives back together a week after a tornado killed a 2-year-old child, destroyed 50 homes and damaged many others in that community.

People who live in Rogers, just northwest of the metro, survived a tornado in 2006 and know what rebuilding is like. Bob Collins, the author of Minnesota Public Radio's News Cut blog, has been talking with some of those people in Rogers.
