St. Paul, Minn. — From quirky moments to on-edge situations, the PBS series CARRIER captures life aboard the USS Nimitz.

The 10-part documentary offers a glimpse into the lives of the ship's 5,000 Navy personnel -- average age 19.

Director Maro Chermayeff and her crew spent six months on the aircraft carrier during its deployment to Iraq.
