Earthquake hits Midwest; no injuries reported
by Tom Crann, Minnesota Public RadioSt. Paul, Minn. — People across a large swath of the nation's midsection felt a earthquake this morning.
Before dawn a 5.2 magnitude earthquake hit an area centered in Southern Illinois near the Indiana border. The quake and its aftershocks were felt as far away Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the north, Atlanta in the South, Louisville in the west and Des Moines in the east.
No injuries or major damage have been reported with this quake.
Val Chandler, a geophysicist with the Minnesota Geological Survey, joined "All Things Considered's" Tom Crann to discuss the quake.
