They said it would never catch on. Today, it's one of the most recognizable symbols in the world.
St. Paul, Minn. — The peace symbol stared out as an emblem for the British nuclear proliferation movement. Fifty years later, it adorns bumper stickers, shot glasses and dog sweaters.
