Snow snarls traffic across Minnesota
by Tom Weber, Minnesota Public RadioSt. Paul, Minn. — Wednesday morning's snowfall made the commute slower for many Twin Cities drivers.
A tractor trailer overturned on eastbound I-94, near the Mississippi River, which caused lengthy delays in both directions.
MnDOT reported a number of morning accidents, including one that closed the right shoulder at westbound I-494 and Highway 169 during rush-hour.
Another driver spun out at westbound I-694 and I-35W. The right shoulder of southbound Highway 280 was also closed at University Ave. because of an accident.
Meteorologist Craig Edwards, writing for Minnesota Public Radio's Updraft blog, wrote that roads were also treacherous near Redwood Falls, where two inches of snow had fallen by daybreak.
"Combine the fresh snowfall with winds to 25 mph and temperatures in the teens and you have quite the wintry landscape," he wrote.
