WCCO's Bill Carlson dies

(AP) - Bill Carlson, a longtime news anchor for WCCO TV, died Friday evening, the station announced. The station said Carlson, 73, had been suffering from prostate cancer and that the disease had spread to his liver.

Carlson worked for WCCO-TV for nearly 50 years, covering news and sports, reporting the weather and reviewing movies. He began his journalism career in 1951 at WCCO Radio.
