When can drinking become deadly?

by Tom Crann, Minnesota Public Radio

St. Paul, Minn. — It appears that alcohol has led to the death of another college student in Minnesota.

Brian Threet, 20, of Farmington, Minn., was found dead in his St. Cloud, Minn., apartment Saturday after what his friends say was a night of drinking.

If medical examiners verify alcohol caused Threet's death, it would be the fourth drinking-related death of a college student in the state since October.

Dr. Jon Hallberg joined MPR's Tom Crann to discuss the effects of alcohol on the body, and when it can become fatal.
