President, U.S. Senate, Congress, and the Minnesota House of Representatives are the major races in the campaign of 2008. This is the first presidential election without an incumbent or sitting vice president involved since 1952.
Iraq war funding and the presidential campaign
Democrats in Congress failed on the last opportunity this year to set a timetable for troop withdrawal from Iraq. Both parties walk a careful line between support for Bush Administration policies and being seen as denying funds for troops.
