Photographer Craig Blacklock seeks to preserve the North Shore

St. Paul, Minn. — Nature photographer Craig Blacklock is using his latest book and DVD to educate Minnesotans about development around Lake Superior.

Blacklock's new work is called "Minnesota's North Shore," and it's devoted to the pristine landscapes of Lake Superior. But Blacklock says those landscapes could easily be ruined by too much land development.

Blacklock says he's devoted to the area because the raw nature of the big lake captures his imagination. He spoke with MPR's Cathy Wurzer.
