New free clinic in south Minneapolis offers holistic healing
St. Paul, Minn. — A new clinic at the University of Minnesota is offering a different approach to health care. The Integrated Health Clinic is a student-run facility which offers free services to low income patients.
The difference is that patients are seen by a team of medical students who are learning traditional and alternative medical practices.
After consulting with a physician the students offer a variety of treatment options from acupuncture to prescription drugs.
Morning Edition talked to Carter Lebares, the co-founder of the Integrated Health Clinic and a fourth-year medical student at the U of M.
