Hallberg: What's behind toy recalls

St. Paul, Minn. — The Chinese government is trying to shore up confidence in the country's toy manufacturing industry after several major toy recalls this year. Toy companies worry that bad press about toxic and dangerous toys could hurt holiday sales.

All Things Considered medical analyst, Dr. Jon Hallberg, discusses a major factor behind many of the recalls: lead-based paint that could lead to lead poisoning. Of course lead poisoning is nothing new to health professionals, especially if they deal with children.
