Imagine all the people... gone

Picture this: A virus wipes out the entire human population of the earth. Homes, streets, cities, and all our other creations are left vacant. Would the world rejoice, finally freed of our environmental stresses? Or would it miss us?

Minnesota native Alan Weisman explored that thought experiment in a speech Monday at the University of Minnesota Bookstore.
