Commentary: The plight of the cycling motorist

St. Paul, Minn. — On Friday this week, the monthly Critical Mass bicycle demonstration will take place in Minneapolis.

During these events a large group of bike riders take over city streets, and the bicyclists often clash with motorists who get caught in the traffic.

Last month, 19 participants were arrested after a confrontation with police.

Commentator Peter Smith understands the tension between bikers and drivers. In fact, he empathizes with both sides.
