St. Paul, Minn. — There's a big fundraiser Friday night for the Children's Defense Fund at Mill City Museum in Minneapolis. High-priced, elegant benefit events at museums and mansions are commonplace across the country, but Friday's party should attract a group of donors typically not represented at other charitable cocktail parties -- young people.
The LEAD Project (Leadership Emergence and Development) is a new organization in the Twin Cities that's trying to turn young professionals into young philanthropists. Matt Hemsley is President of the project and he joined All Things Considered host Tom Crann to discuss the organization.
