Commentary: The costs and benefits of kids in college

This week, many Minnesota students will head back to school.

Peter Smith and his wife will see two of their kids off to college. Their son will be a freshman at Hamline University in St. Paul this fall, and their daughter will be a junior at the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities.

Peter says they expect some big changes when the children leave their Hopkins home.
