Patti Smith performs in the Current studio

by Barb Abney, Minnesota Public Radio
August 7, 2007

St. Paul, Minn. — Poet; artist; punk rocker; activist and mother. These are all words we use to describe the legendary Patti Smith. We were thrilled to welcome her into The Current's studio for a very brief but intimate interview and performance.

While she was here she paid homage to Jerry Garcia, shared the back story of one of her more recent politically charged songs "Without Chains," and her upcoming yearly Metropolitan Museum of Art performance.

Songs performed: "Grateful", "People Have The Power" and "My Blakean Year".
