Remembering the "Storm of the Century"

Twenty years ago today, a rainstorm swept through Minnesota that would later be known as the state's "Storm of the Century." On July 23, 1987, many parts of the Twin Cities metro area were flooded as large amounts of rain hit the area.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer talked with Bill Togstad about what happened that day. Togstad is a forecaster at the National Weather Service in Chanhassen. He co-authored a paper on the science of what happened during the storm.
