Group tries going "green" the platinum way

June 4, 2007

Minnetonka, Minn. — Not far from the site of the new United Health "green" building, a Minnetonka homeowner is striving for the highest LEED level of all: Platinum.

Peter Lytle plans to meet the strictest possible energy-efficiency standards for his home in order to prove that LEED certifications aren't limited to commercial buildings.

Lytle is the executive director of Live Green, Live Smart. And, he is involved in turning a late-'40s rambler in Minnetonka into the first Platinum LEED-certified remodeled home in the U.S.

All Things Considered host Tom Crann talked to Lytle.
