TPT banks on Alexander Hamilton documentary
Alexander Hamilton's face graces the $10 bill and he played a major part in setting up the U.S. banking system, but his role in U.S. history tends to be overshadowed by giants like Jefferson, Franklin and Washington.
Tonight, Hamilton gets the spotlight in a television documentary that premieres on PBS stations nationwide. The film was produced in Minnesota by Twin Cities Public Television. It uses both historians and actors to tell Hamilton's story.
That's the same documentary technique used in TPT's Emmy Award-winning "Benjamin Franklin" documentary in 2002.
MPR's Greta Cunningham talked with executive producer Catherine Allen of Twin Cities Public Television, about why Alexander Hamilton was a good followup to the Ben Franklin documentary.
