St. Paul, Minn. — Twin Cities philanthropist, veterinarian and one-time U.S. Senate candidate Ford Bell has become the first new president of the American Association of Museums in 20 years.
In his new role, he will lead an organization that covers art museums, science museums, natural history museums and more.
Bell's grandfather, James Ford Bell lent his name to the Bell Museum of Natural History at the University of Minnesota.
Ford Bell spoke with All Things Considered host Tom Crann about his new appointment and the state of museums in Minnesota.
