Football player hopes for call from NFL
by Cathy Wurzer, Minnesota Public RadioA Minnesota native who played football for the North Dakota State Bisons last year may be selected in the NFL draft this weekend. Craig Dahl describes what feels like to be sized up by professional football scouts.
St. Paul, Minn. — There will be a group of family and friends in Madison Lake, Minnesota this weekend, watching the NFL draft and listening for one name to be called.
They're hoping that one of their own, Craig Dahl, will be selected in the draft of college players. If he is selected, it would be a dream come true for the North Dakota State player.
Dahl was an all-state quarterback at Mankato East high school. At NDSU, he switched to strong safety. In his last season, he started to attract the attention of NFL scouts.
Dahl says it's been a whirlwind recently as he's brought on an agent and tried to improve his chances of getting drafted.
MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke to Dahl.
