Walter Mosley's advice

by Tom Crann, Minnesota Public Radio
April 24, 2007

St. Paul, Minn. — Walter Mosley is the author of critically acclaimed mystery novels, including "Devil in a Blue Dress" and "Always Outnumbered, Always Outgunned." You might be familiar with the clever, conflicted protagonists named Easy Rawlins and Fearless Jones.

But his newest book features no characters, no unsolved murders, jury trials or plot of any kind. This time, the novelist says, it's your turn.

Walter Mosley is in Minnesota this week to talk about his latest book, "This Year, You Write Your Novel." At under 100 pages, it's surprisingly short, given what it proposes to do.

All Things Considered host Tom Crann talked to Mosley.
