A new think tank in town

April 6, 2007

St. Paul, Minn. — One of the fastest growing areas of our region is in western Wisconsin, right across the river from the Twin Cities. St. Croix County, which includes Hudson, Wisc., saw its population jump more than 23 percent in the past few years, making it the fastest growing Wisconsin County.

With the growth comes a host of issues, and to address some of them, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls has launched a think tank that will look at sustainable growth in the St. Croix Valley.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer talked with professor Kelly Cain, the head of the new St. Croix Institute for Sustainable Community Development.
